Credit Suisse First Boston to acquire Volaris Advisors
June 2003 - Volaris Advisors, the leading provider of volatility management services to private clients, foundations, endowments and institutions agreed to be acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston.
Volaris Advisors was owned by its founders and private equity investors. Freeman & Co. structured a deal that allows shareholders to capitalize on the continued growth resulting from the CSFB partnership.
At the time of the transaction Volaris was managing $800 million in equity assets through customized option investment strategies, primarily for ultra high net worth individuals or family offices with concentrated single stock positions. Volaris will be integrated into CSFB’s Private Client Group and will work actively with the Equity Derivatives Group to create custom yield enhancement solutions and structured investment products.
The acquisition included Volaris’ Nova software, an internet-based program designed to help financial institutions develop options investment strategies for their clients.
