James P. Murray
Managing Director
James P. Murray joined Freeman & Co.in 2010 as a Managing Director. He has 25 years of experience as an investment banker covering financial institutions.
During his career, Mr. Murray has participated in numerous public and private financing and strategic advisory engagements for insurers, banks, finance companies and other types of financial services companies.
Prior to joining Freeman & Co, Mr. Murray was a Managing Director and Group Head of Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Institutions Group, a group which he founded when he joined the firm in 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Murray worked for three years at Fox-Pitt, Kelton, where he was Group Head of North American Corporate Finance, and for 15 years at PaineWebber, where he was a Managing Director in that firm’s Financial Institutions Group.
Mr. Murray graduated from DePaul University, Chicago, with a B.S. in Commerce, and he received an M.B.A. from UCLA’s Graduate School of Management, Los Angeles. He is also a certified public accountant.
